Governance & Community Engagement

We intend to give governance of Dexodus to our users in 2025. This is subject to change based on community priorities and possible roadblocks that might occur with other high-priority features for the protocol.
The Dexodus protocol governance process will involve forum proposals and community discussions. Any proposed modifications to the protocol will be openly discussed on the forum, and the dev contributors will execute each proposal under the premise of shared opinions. Executions will be transparent, and the developers will notify the community through various channels before the implementation occurs. All protocol modifications will only take effect after a 48-hour timelock. This is intended to provide community members with a sufficient window of time to participate.
Specific thresholds of DXG staking (still to be determined) will have to be reached before being able to write a proposal. Once a proposal is written, DXG stakers will then have the chance to vote on the proposal and determine whether it should pass or not as well as which priority it should take over existing proposals if it should pass. After the specified timelock for the proposal has passed, if a consensus has been reached, it will either be included in the existing proposals or it will be archived to keep it in the records.
The path towards complete decentralization in protocol governance will be gradual, reflecting our commitment to prioritizing development. Upon protocol launch, our highest priority is to ensure exceptional performance and efficient adaptation to the ever-changing market. Leading the governance initially allows Dexodus' developers to implement consistent improvements at a faster pace, thereby strengthening the foundation of DXG.
As the protocol reaches a broad user base and consistently delivers optimized experiences for all traders, our focus will shift toward achieving a higher degree of decentralization. Voting will be progressively introduced into the governance process, beginning with major protocol update polling and expanding to comprehensive protocol modifications. In future phases, trust will be minimized as DXG holders gain governance rights, allowing the community to actively shape the protocol towards full decentralization.
